In addition to the financing grants specifically provided by ADEME, Bpifrance and FranceAgriMer, a 10th "JOP Paris 2024" theme is being proposed for this 4th wave of the innovation competition. It is submitted in collaboration with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee (JOP Paris 2024).

Innovation projects in sustainable development and digital technologies applicable to the needs of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be selected. Beyond the 2024 Games, these projects must also offer strong market prospects, particularly for major sporting and cultural events.

Unlike other themes, the study of candidate projects will be entrusted to ADEME, Bpifrance and FranceAgriMer, depending on the innovation of product, use or service proposed.

Innovations with the following applications will be preferred:

  • city in transition (ADEME ): management and environmental optimization of flows (air pollution, traffic), new mobilities, new services related to the connected city, construction / design of temporary multifunctional / connected / movable and recyclable urban furniture, integrated transmodal mobility applications, etc.
  • adaptation to climate change (ADEME ): summer urban comfort, natural air conditioning, air quality and summer comfort, anticipation and prevention of heat islands, vegetation, etc.
  • Circular economy (ADEME): temporary equipment and infrastructure, non-food consumption waste, construction waste.
  • intelligent food (FranceAgriMer): health and digital safety, traceability and conservation, local and responsible agriculture in short circuits, food solutions in dense urban areas, systemic models of proximity combining agriculture, gastronomy and catering, consumer waste.
  • digital deep tech (Bpifrance): digital technology for the spectator experience, for security and law enforcement, for accessibility and inclusion, for access to and development of sports (remote, virtual, etc.). Projects should focus on the following technologies: quantum computing, blockchain, AI and Big Data, augmented reality (AR) / virtual reality (VR).

Because of the 2024 games, the innovation will have to be industrialized by the beginning of 2022 at the latest. These projects will be rewarded according to the same financial criteria as the projects entering the generic framework of the Innovation Contest.
