Making the city accessible to all: the mission of Okeenea and Dynergie.

Okeenea

For almost 30 years, Okeenea has been one of the leading players in mobility. Its 60 enthusiasts have made it their mission to make the city accessible to people with disabilities.

When it comes to mobility, the average person talks about "pedestrian public transport".

However, pedestrians are not considered in their uniqueness. When we make the effort to lift this status quo: 75% of people are lost on a map.

Today's interfaces consist of a blue dot on a map. This goes back to the beginning of the use of GPS, it was a vision of the Earth. This technical wink becomes a standard of use. But is it adapted to the use?

The situation of the users under constraint makes it impossible to use these visual interfaces.

Okeenea's choice was therefore to become the guarantor of an inclusive support system, designed by and for the user.

From the place of transit to the place of arrival, the Okeenea teams want to cover the entire value chain of mobility by offering, in addition to a pleasant use, autonomy and freedom on the choice of the accompaniment. The established technique was to match needs and capabilities in order to implement all this in a smartphone.

Increase our impact on a broader geographic scale.

Today, thanks to instructional guidance or simplified cartography, Okeenea already accompanies visually impaired people in the Marseille metro and is being demonstrated in France and New York.

The teams quickly deduced that this was not enough to achieve their goal. The SmartCity must leave no one behind, as the digital divide is already somewhat exclusive.

This is when the search for solutions adapted to the needs of all users begins, challenging the status quo, without technological limits.

Innovation has a crucial role here.

our answer

The I-Nov competition by BPI.

Okeenea needed to Fund their ambition, which reflects a real turning point for the company.

As part of their monitoring of regional, national and European calls for projects, our experts have identified the I-Nov competition, themed mobility, as an opportunity for Okeenea.

After validating that the project met the competition's requirements, our experts were able to remove a possible pitfall raised by Okeenea's managers. Having already been awarded a prize, they doubted whether they could reapply. We then worked on structuring a new innovation project, which was different from the one already presented

Our experts accompanied Okeenea in the maturation of the project, by identifying and strengthening the limiting points. Our expertise goes up to the definition of the strategy of valorization of the project.

Our teams took charge of writing the application file, applying the best practices for editing, while respecting the requirements of the funding organization.

The success of this project.

A significant internal impact.

Working with a partner such as Dynergie allowed Okeenea's teams to work in sequences and to have a look at the progressiveness of the project.
Beyond the simple project, it contributed to the internal culture: the management was able to present all these sequences to the employees and to engage them through a system of OKR(Objective Key Results).

A precise expertise.

The consistent advantage of a partner lies in its knowledge of the expectations of a competition. Dynergie's processes encourage candidates to structure their thinking and make a project tangible. The methodology of the project has been largely infused by the Dynergie teams.

By identifying the technical obstacles, the project team has made it possible to formalize a problem and its solution.

1.7 Million Euros

is the amount obtained by the winner of the 9th wave of the I-Nov competition by BPI.

An entrepreneurial attitude, coupled with adaptability

According to Damien, Okeenea's Deputy Managing Director, Pauline and Marina, our experts in charge of the mission, pushed Okeenea to project a vision, an ambition, beyond the technical aspect of the project. They were able to adopt an entrepreneurial posture, while also having a project-oriented outlook. Finally, Pauline and Marina were able to adapt perfectly to the rhythm and culture of Okeenea.

To conclude.

The collaboration with Dynergie has been a real success. The benevolent management within the company is felt. Dynergie's values, shared by both entities, have been the central element of this success.

Damien Brosseau

Executive Vice President, Okeenea

This collaboration has gone wonderfully well thanks to one crucial element: our common DNA, that of the culture of innovation, requirement and resilience.
