Building an innovation roadmap in 2 days

Trelleborg

Trelleborg is a major player in providing high-performance, optimal solutions for all low- and medium-pressure applications for industrial hoses and fittings.

Background and objectives

Trelleborg's Industrial Hoses division wanted to offer innovative solutions to create growth drivers for the company.

Dynergie was asked to support Trelleborg's teams in the creation of the 3-5 year innovation roadmap (solutions and technologies) and thus fill the pipeline for future strategic innovation projects for the company in line with market needs.

our answer

Co-construction of the innovation roadmap

Dynergie adopted a condensed two-day Design Thinking approach to help Trelleborg develop this innovation roadmap.

During this sprint, participants were first immersed in an empathy process to better understand their customers, then identified pain points and needs which led to the formulation of a unique problem.

The second day was devoted to inspiration, with a gallery walk prepared by the Dynergie teams, followed by ideation to generate ideas for innovative projects. Based on the selection and prioritization of projects, the teams then developed a few ideas in greater depth and built a roadmap for implementing these innovation projects.

The success of this project.

Multidisciplinary teams

The two-day Design Sprint enabled participants from several departments (marketing, sales, R&D...) to be trained in the Design Thinking approach and to develop collective intelligence between the different departments.

A roadmap of innovation projects

Several types of project have emerged: improvements to existing products, the creation of new solutions, and the exploration of new technologies.

To conclude.

The collective intelligence of a team with varied and complementary profiles has enabled the emergence of an innovation roadmap for Trelleborg's industrial pipes and fittings business.

Sylvie Priour

Marketing and Communications Director

"Our experience with Dynergie at the design thinking workshop was extremely beneficial and transformative for our company, thanks to the expertise and positive approach of two exceptional facilitators, Manon Rethouze and Mario Esposito. Their mastery of design thinking and their ability to engage every member of our team (marketing, R&D and sales) were crucial to the success of this initiative. Dynergie's approach opened our eyes to the many facets of innovation, and guided us to draw inspiration from both customer needs and tomorrow's challenges, as well as from other industries. It's not just about improving an existing offering, but also encompasses new ways of working and fresh approaches to customer service. This broader perspective was a key factor in aligning our different functions around a common, coherent vision. The highlight of the two-day session was the creation of an ambitious roadmap for the next three years, incorporating major projects with a strong technological component. This roadmap not only represents our vision and strategy, but also a concrete action plan that takes into account current and future market trends, while fostering constant innovation within our company. In conclusion, our collaboration with Dynergie has been a key factor in aligning our teams, enriching our approach to innovation, and establishing a strategic roadmap for the years ahead. "
